Alex Otteson, Community Manager
Alex brings a diverse background that blends hospitality leadership, brand development, entrepreneurship, and international business strategy. Prior to joining Loloft, Alex founded and operated a specialty food brand, building the company from the ground up through strategic social media marketing, event activations, and direct-to-consumer sales. The brand earned national recognition, including a social media product endorsement from internationally known television host Bear Grylls. Through this venture, Alex developed expertise in brand positioning, customer engagement, and growth strategy.
In addition to entrepreneurial experience, Alex has held senior hospitality leadership roles, including General Manager and Chef, overseeing full-scale food and beverage operations. These roles included directing high-volume service environments, managing cross-functional teams, improving operational systems, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. Alex successfully restructured kitchen processes to reduce food and labor costs by 15 percent within two months and led operational improvements in remote and resort-based environments that increased efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Alex also brings international business development experience through work with World Wide Wines, providing brand development and management services within the global wine industry. This role involved negotiating contracts, coordinating product logistics, supporting import partnerships, and building relationships with partners through trade shows and marketing campaigns. Hands-on experience studying winemaking, agribusiness, and sommelier skills in Argentina further strengthened Alex’s global market perspective and product development insight.
Earlier career experience includes production coordination for film and media projects, where Alex managed logistics, negotiated agreements, and ensured adherence to strict production timelines—reinforcing strong project management and deadline-driven execution skills.
Across industries, Alex’s professional approach is rooted in operational excellence, strategic marketing, and relationship-building. With a background spanning hospitality, entrepreneurship, international trade, and community operations, Alex brings a well-rounded and service-driven perspective to supporting Loloft’s members and partners.
